Education, especially in the global era, is much more than a passive, monotonous acquisition of knowledge by the students. There is a definite shift in focus from the conventional teacher-centric system to student-centric, interactive approach. Education is now seen as an investment whose course is to be charted out with active involvement of all the stake-holders, be it the students, the guardians, in fact the local community at large, whose uplift the institute is supposed to bring about.
With the revolution in information technology, the pattern of education in India is slowly but surely becoming tech-oriented. Such new design should be the key feature for any aspiring institution and must serve as a catalyst in realizing the flexibility and mobility needs of the modern generation. An interface connection via the Internet has been inevitable for the students to have constant access to the college curriculum after class hours.
Education at PMS Mahavidyalaya is a memorable experience. Besides usual curricular activities, the students are exposed to number of interdisciplinary programmes through debates, group discussions, group tasks and interactive seminars – all designed to bring about the creative, analytical and comprehensive capabilities in them. These programmes constantly inspire, encourage and motivate the students to develop their leadership qualities as well as their communicative skills. Based on the experiences and feedback from the various stakeholders segments of the college, we strive to provide good quality modern education including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities and physical education to the students so as to ensure that they attain a reasonable level of competence in all aspects.
